What is it?

Kaleidoscope is for adults with disabilities or long-term health conditions. Based on the enterprise programme used by colleges, the group helps you gain the skills you need for volunteering, work or training by taking part in activities that everyone in the group enjoys, eg art, photography and making and buying items to sell. Any money raised by the group is put back into the group. Taking part in the group increases social skills, encourages independence and combats social isolation. A key part is to increase confidence to go into work, training or employment.

The programme is designed with input from the group members at our quarterly planning meeting. Themes include:

  • Art and Photography
  • Indoor Gardening
  • Cooking / Baking
  • Please contact us for up-to-date programme information.

The group meets at the Methodist Mission, Lord Street, Huddersfield at 10am every Friday. Lunch and refreshments, plus all activities, are included in the cost. Please note: travel is NOT included in the cost.

Clients must be comfortable working in groups or be willing to work towards this. One-to-one preparation work can be done if necessary.

Each session costs £30 per person per day. The cost includes lunch and refreshments, plus all activities. Please note: travel is NOT included in the cost.
